Texas Tulips Trip

About an hour north of Dallas is the beautiful and colorful Texas Tulip Farm. Yes, there is a tulip farm here in Texas y'all. The owners parents (Peter's) started growing tulips in Holland over 40 years ago. Now Peter and wife Petra have their very own tulip farm in the Lone Star State. There are currently about 100 different varieties of tulips to choose from. They are only available for about six weeks from late February to very early April. Make sure to check their website before heading out. I suggest to visit them during the week to avoid long lines.

Tulips are my favorite flower so I was enjoying every minute of it. Entrance fee is only $5.00 per person and each tulip you pick is $2.50. When you are ready to check out you get to choose the color paper to wrap your pretty bouquet of tulips.

Get your camera and smile ready because there will be rows and rows of beautiful tulips for you to choose from!

Make sure to go on a sunny day to get really good pics!

Don't be shy to take as many photos as you would like!! There are a lot of people that show up with their cameras ready! So get ready to pose for that Instagram or Facebook pic.

You are going to be amazed at all the different varieties of tulips. There is bound to be a tulip for you!!

I had so much fun picking my very own tulips. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. You start from the very bottom of the tulip and pluck straight up.

The only problem is that you are going to want to take home all the tulips with you.

Fort Worth Trip

After visiting the picturesque tulip farm I ventured over to the Fort Worth Stockyard Livestock Exchange. The Livestock Exchange building was built in 1902 as an office for cattle traders. Back then it was known as "The Wall Street of the West". Twice a day here you can enjoy a cattle drive at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM.

For only $5.00 (cash only) I was able to get a picture with a longhorn after the cattle drive!! Everything is bigger in Texas!! Make sure to take the time to stroll around all the stores nearby! I finally purchased my very own cowgirl hat. I also got some unique souvenirs like a pen in the shape of a gun!! Only in Texas right?!

If you get hungry there's plenty of restaurants nearby to curb your appetite!
